What is a filler?

A filler is a temporary gel-like filler for the skin. It is also known as an injectable because it is injectable. The basis of a filler is hyaluronic acid, a bond that also occurs naturally in our skin. Hyaluronic acid keeps skin elastic and firm. The older you get, the less hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the skin, causing the skin to lose volume and moisture. You can repair this with fillers.

Attention! There are different types and brands of fillers, with different qualities, prices, results and safety. You can read more about that later in this blog.

What does a filler do?

The name actually says it all, it fills in spots in your face. For example, you can restore volume, strengthen contours or address lines and wrinkles in desired areas of the face. Fillers strengthen subcutaneous tissue for a natural, younger-looking appearance.

How is a filler placed?

Fillers, often already mixed with an anaesthetic, are placed with a very thin injection needle. The treatment is almost painless.

Options with fillers

There are many options with fillers. For example, you can apply fillers to create volume in the lips, puffiness, temples, cheekbones and corners of the mouth. To contour the face, fillers are often placed in the chin, cheeks, nose, and jawline.

Different types and brands of fillers

It is not that there is only one type of filler. There are different types and brands of fillers. Per filler, the prize, safety and sustainability differently.

For example, it is possible that 3 ml filler is cheaper at one clinic than at another clinic. However, this does not always mean that you are cheaper. It can be a cheaper filler that dissolves much faster, so you have to repeat the treatment earlier.
